For believers, God’s BOOK is our most important business. We need to read it and memorize it. And as Proverbs 4:20-22 says, we must attend to it: “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh.”
The way we “tend” to The BOOK is by keeping it in front of our eyes—not only by reading and speaking it aloud, but also by seeing ourselves in light of it. For instance…
When you read in Psalm 103 that God forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, by faith see yourself forgiven and whole.
When you read 2 Corinthians 9:8, see yourself out of debt and “furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation” (Amplified Bible, Classic Edition).
Think about what you see in The WORD. Meditate on it. See yourself with the answer, and call yourself what God’s WORD calls you!
